Auburn Montgomery Library

Message from the Dean

Welcome to the Auburn Montgomery Library’s website

The mission of the University is to provide students with an education intended to “instill in students ways of thinking, communicating, and learning that will be of enduring value.” The Library supports this effort and is dedicated to assisting students, faculty and staff in obtaining these objectives. The Library is an academic support unit devoted to providing the University community with the needed information resources and services necessary to support the educational mission of the University.

The Library’s website offers a quick and easy means for locating information about the Library and its services, along with facilitating your research efforts through easy to locate databases and our on-line catalog. The Library holds over 300,000 books, 1,500 current periodical subscriptions, over 1,000,000 federal government documents, and over 70 electronic databases containing access to over 15,000 journal titles. For those items not owned by the Library, we have an excellent Interlibrary Loan department with one of the fastest turn-around times in the state for getting information.

The Library does not operate in a vacuum. We depend upon input from our users, faculty, staff and students. We are dedicated to serving you, and if you need assistance, we encourage you to contact the Library for assistance.

If you have suggestions for new services you would like to see initiated, questions or complaints, please contact Phill Johnson, Library Dean. If we can assist you in any way, please let us know.

Phill Johnson
