Two new databases, GreenFile and Planeta Saber

The AUM Library now has access to two new databases provided by the Alabama Virtual Library, GreenFile and Planeta Saber.
GreenFile is a collection of scholarly, government, and general interest titles concentrating on issues of the environment. Topics covered include global climate change, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more.
>Planeta Saber is a comprehensive, general-interest encyclopedia in Spanish. Published by Encyclopedia Britannica, Planeta Saber is the perfect resource for native Spanish speakers, bilingual students, and students learning Spanish, containing over 144,000 articles plus 8,300 photos and images.
These resources are provided as part of the Alabama Virtual Library, a state-funded set of databases provided to citizens of Alabama through university, college, school, and public libraries throughout the state.

Welcome to Our Blog!

Welcome to the AUM Library’s newest method of communication – the Aumnicat Blog. The Blog (an abridgment of the phrase ‘web log’) is a website that is frequently updated. In our case, it will be used to distribute information about the library, library related events, collections information (such as the new books list), and other types of information that we hope will keep you informed on library activities and issues.
As always, if you have questions or comments about the Blog or other library issues, please contact me by e-mail (
