Creating Persistent Links for Articles,
eBooks, & Other Online Database Materials

Follow the directions below to set up persistent links to articles, eBooks, and other materials from the Library's online databases. For some databases, the persistent link does not go directly to the full text of an article. Please instruct your students to click on the full text link to access the article. Also if students access the articles off campus, they must log in. Please include a statement indicating that the articles, eBooks, and other materials to which you link are from the Library's databases. Access to these databases is supported by the students' technology fees.

2. Scroll down the screen to the Persistent link to this record. Refer to the illustration below.

JSTOR

1. Locate the Stable URL shown in the search results list or journal table of contents list. See the illustration below.
2. Copy and paste the Stable URL into your course material.
3. Copy and paste https://aumnicat.aum.edu/login?url= at the beginning of the Stable URL. The complete URL for the article below is:

4. Check the link to make sure it works.

netLibrary

1. Begin with the record for an eBook in the Library's online catalog.
2. Point your cursor to "Bibliographic record display An electronic book accessible through the World Wide Web" in the Web Link field. See the illustration below.
3. Click on the right mouse button and select Copy Shortcut from the menu box. See the illustration below.
4. Paste the URL into your course material.
5. Copy and paste https://aumnicat.aum.edu/login?url= at the beginning of the eBook URL. The complete URL for the eBook below is:
