Usage of this database has seen a significant decline this year. The number of searches has decreased by 66%, and the number of full-text articles retrieved has decreased by 57%. Because this year the Library changed vendors to acquire access to the ACS database, we saw a decreased subscription price, saving the Library nearly $2,000. The cost for the renewal this year was $22,347. The average cost per full-text article accessed this year was $178.78, or more than double last year’s average cost.The database contains the premiere journals in the discipline, however, and our faculty benefit by having access to the database to help them keep current with the research.
