ABC-CLIO - America: History & Life / Historical Abstracts
The year 2005-2006 saw a significant increase in the access to these historical abstract databases. Access to America: History & Life increased by 62% over the previous year. Access to Historical Abstracts also saw an increase of 128%. The number of searches for each database also increased, with AHL increasing by 24% and HA increasing by 206%.The introduction of new faculty in the History department has resulted in the students being encouraged to utilize these databases with their assignments. The use of these abstracts is also having a residual effect in Interlibrary Loan and Access Services by utilizing making more requests to borrow materials, either through traditional ILL or by Universal Borrowing.
