Cataloging Unit

The Cataloging Unit, which is located on the 8th floor of the Library Tower, is responsible for creating and maintaining records in the online catalog for all materials held by AUM Library. The Cataloging Unit also processes materials to go on the shelves by providing them with call number labels, date due slips, etc.

The Cataloging Unit assigns call numbers and arranges the Library's books and videos according the Library of Congress Classification system. Any item marked "In Process" in the online catalog is located in the Cataloging Unit. If you need help locating such items, please contact the Cataloging Librarian. Any other questions or problems related to information in the library's catalog should be directed to the Head of Technical Services.
