Literature Resource Center
Literature Resource Center provides three databases:
- Contemporary Authors: A bio-bibliographical guide to current writers in fiction, general nonfiction, poetry, journalism, drama, motion pictures, television, and other fields. Provides complete biographical and bibliographical references for more than 90,000 authors in the U.S. and around the world.
- Scribner Writers Series: Includes some 1,600 full-text articles on writers and literary genres drawn from thirteen acclaimed print sets. Each signed article was written by a noted scholar and concludes with a bibliography of primary and secondary sources for further study. Since the publication of the first volumes of AMERICAN WRITERS in 1974, the series has been a standard resource in academic, public, and senior high school libraries for use by students, teachers, scholars, librarians, and the general public.
- The Twayne Authors Series - Twayne World, English, and US Authors: Provides literary criticism for approximately 200 authors, bringing the total number of authors covered in the Series to nearly 600. Each author selected for coverage is tied to the high school and college curriculum. It provides critical introductions to the lives and works of writers, to the history and influence of literary movements, or the development of literary genres. Primarily devoted to critical interpretation and discussion of authors' works, these studies take account of major literary trends and important contributions to scholarship and criticism, and provide new critical insights and original points of view. Each treatment of an author averages from 175 to 200 pages in length.
